All are welcome to attend the Rubin Science Assemblies: weekly virtual sessions that focus on learning to use the Rubin data products, pipelines, and services.
Date: Oct 15 2026, 9am Pacific Daylight Time (UTC-7; 2026-10-15T16:00:00Z)
Type: Demonstration
Hosts: Aidan Sedgewick, Aman Raju (Denmark); Stephen Gwynn (Canada); Heather Kelly, Nacho Sevilla Noarbe (NERSC)
Zoom: Get the Zoom connection link
Danish IDAC: The Danish IDAC (DK-IDAC) is a one-stop shop for computing power and Rubin datasets complimented with legacy datasets. The DK-IDAC is dedicated to transients, cosmology, galaxy science and dark matter. We present an overview of the DK-IDAC and some demos on how to access imaging and tabular data.
The Canadian Astronomy Data Centre: Powering Canada’s Contribution to LSST: The Canadian Astronomy Data Centre (CADC) is establishing an IDAC integrated into the CANFAR Science Platform to support LSST. The facility provides data rights holders with petabyte-scale data hosting including coadded images and catalog databases alongside 3000 CPU cores and 2 PB of user storage for interactive and batch processing. This talk will give an overview on how Rubin users will access our services.
NERSC: The National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center (NERSC) provides high-performance computing resources to researchers across a broad range of scientific disciplines, including international collaborators. NERSC provides computing resources for the Dark Energy Science Collaboration (DESC). We present an overview of the resources available to DESC at NERSC and discuss how the collaboration will use complementary computing resources to enable large-scale analyses of Rubin data and maximize their scientific return for cosmology.
