UK IDAC Downtime (14th--16th September, plus at risk during 17th--18th September)

Dear colleagues,

The UK IDAC will be unavailable from 10am BST on Monday 14th September until noon BST on Wednesday 16th September, plus will be at risk for the remainder of the week. The outage is for a major update to the Somerville cloud, on which UK IDAC services are hosted.

During the outage, all services will be unavailable, including RSP, RSP-test, TAP, and Butler S3 interfaces.

We will provide an update here as the update progresses, or if plans change.

Best wishes,
George.

The host-platform maintenance is overrunning a little. It is possible the UK IDAC will be back online later today, thought there is a chance it will not be available until tomorrow (Thr 17th).

Apologies for any inconvenience.

Sadly, the UK IDAC has not yet been fully recovered from the host-platform maintenance. You are able to log in to the Science Platform web interface but various ancillary services (e.g., TAP) are not yet available. We hope to complete the restoration of UK IDAC services during tomorrow (Friday 18th).

Apologies again for the delay in restoring service.

The UK IDAC is now mostly back online:

  • rsp-test.lsst.ac.uk (which provides preview of latest RSP code and DAC services) is fully online.
  • rsp.lsst.ac.uk (default instance for general use) is mostly online, though TAP interface is not currently working.
We hope to resolve the TAP issue in the next day or so.

Dear colleagues,

The TAP service on rsp.lsst.ac.uk is now online and can be used to perform synchronous queries.

However, due to a security policy change, the results of asynchronous queries are not viewable.

Upcoming work to bring rsp.lsst.ac.uk in line with rsp-test.lsst.ac.uk will alleviate this issue.

Many thanks,

Dave
