All are welcome to join this year’s virtual Rubin Data Academy.

The focus of this year’s Data Academy will be getting started with Data Preview 1 (DP1), which will be released on Mon June 30. DP1 is based on data from the LSST Commissioning Camera obtained over a seven-week period in late 2024. DP1 does not contain any of the data from the full LSST Science Camera which was shown in the Rubin First Look media event.

No registration is needed to attend the Data Academy. If you do not already have a Rubin Science Platform account - which is required in order to access DP1 - start the process to get one today: [ls.st/rsp-signup](http://ls.st/rsp-signup).

**Student participation is encouraged.**

> **Are Rubin data rights required to attend the Academy?**
>
> No, but data rights are required to obtain an account in the Rubin Science Platform and access proprietary Rubin data, and to work through the hands-on tutorials that will be presented. All are welcome to join the Zoom to watch and ask questions, but the Academy content will only be useful to people with Rubin data rights, or who anticipate having them in the near future.
