The end of this period coincided with the beginning of the [Python in Astronomy 2016](http://python-in-astronomy.github.io/2016/) conference.

- A new weekly release was tagged: `w_2016_12`

## Accomplishments

- The `sphgeom` spherical geometry package now has a Python binding. [DM-5521](https://jira.lsstcorp.org/browse/DM-5521)
- Queues are now supported in `ctrl_events`. [DM-5292](https://jira.lsstcorp.org/browse/DM-5292)
- Patches from HSC have been integrated into `meas_algorithms`. [DM-5282](https://jira.lsstcorp.org/browse/DM-5282)
